18. Fruit Bats: Absolute Loser:
19. Car Seat Headrest: Teens of Denial:
The wonder kid does it again, manning his bedroom-based operation. It sounds like he scrounged up enough cash as the sound quality is rapidly departing from Lo-Fi with each new track.
20. Whitney: Light Upon the Lake:
21. Bibio: A Mineral Love
If there were such a thing as an underdog in the indie-pop soundscape, it would be Bibio. Outside of his 2009 earhook that gained prominence through an Amazon commerical, Bibio has consistently been overlooked by numerious “best of” lists. Not this list.
22. The Radio Dept: Running Out of Love
he Radio Dept. attempt to master their own blend of “cassette-pop” nostalgia-wave on this catchy LP.
23. Danny Brown: Atrocity Exhibition
24. Thee Oh Sees: A Weird Exits
“Swirling Waves of Guitars….” was once used to describe My Bloody Valentine’s genre-bending classic Loveless. The same tagline applies to this underrated psychadelic rock LP A Wierd Exits, every bit swirling guitars as it is a ruthless over-driven, over-lengthy, Hendrixy guitarscapes that will make you swear your seeing things.
25. Weezer: The White Album
Weezer seem to bounceback again (and again) when they focus on the garage rock licks and emotional frailty that made them a cornerstone of millennial suburban culture and avoid singing about Pork and Beans and playing MTV Springbreak with Snoop Dogg . Much like the Star Wars franchise, Cuomo and company faced the daunting task of retooling the sound and not alienating their lifelong fans (ask the Strokes how this goes). Like The Force Awakens, the White Album makes the mark, unlike their dreadful 2008 Red Album, Weezer’s own Phantom Menace.

Dandy Warhols: Distortland
Ty Segall-Emotional Mugger
